Anonymity:
ghost bird
Name of Township:
Linnei Township
Name of City:Yunlin County
Type:no

Description:The secretive Formosan whistling thrust has a weird chirm. As you can hear its sound without seeing it, we used to call it a ghost bird when we were young. This kind of bird is black all over the body with a blue or purple luster. Its forehead, wing tips and the portion from the chest to the edges of feathers in the belly are purplish blue with red eyes. It comes and goes in gloomy places as well as by the water. It would hump its body, turn around and fly away suddenly. Sometimes, it turns its head to one side and observes the things around it out of curiosity. This type of birds usually gives an extremely sharp sound like stepping on the brake in an emergency.
