Description of Terrain:Jhuoshuei River, used to be called Huwei River, is the longest river in Taiwan. Its upstream is the major water source for Sun Moon Lake and the applications of water conservancy, irrigation and electric power generation contribute to the economic development of Taiwan a great deal. Over 300,000 hectares of farms in Nantou, Changhua and Yunlin are irrigated with water from Jhuoshuei River. |
Description of Geology:The alluvial soil comprises grit and clay and color changes from dark gray, olive gray to brownish black. The soil has a high viscosity, is free of contamination and rich in organic matters like nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium and magnesium silicate, which are suitable and necessary for crops. |
