Ceremony：From April 10 in 2003, the Linnei Government complies with temples to hold 36-day Protecting Country, Praying for Safety and Planting Happiness Ceremony. On May 19, there was a ceremony to release souls from purgatory for the dead people like in disasters of floods, in car accidents, in fighting Japanese, SARS or soldiers and so on. It was very popular and promoted by the temple, the village head and representatives in Linnei. The ceremony was completed successfully with sacrificial offerings of more than 1200 desks. The ceremony of it was red carpet and so called Beijhai Ceremony, Water Land Ceremony, Water Land Taoist rites. The whole name is Great Water Land Jhai Ceremony. Fa Area means that Buddha and the living things are equal. The greats means that four holy persons and six common people in the area. Four Holy are Buddha, Pusha, Yuanjyue, Shengwun; Six Common: the sky, people, A-Siou-Luo, hungry ghosts, animals and the hell. Water Land is the place which people inform and live and divides as water, land and sky. But the people in water and land have heavier disasters. The people in the sky, like Yutian, Shetian, have more happiness. Therefore, the ceremony is focus on water and land and named Water Land. Pudu is to release souls from hell. Dajhai means to eat without torture. Sheng ceremony: besides the food, there are monks to read classics to release souls free and have moist by water
